Council Meeting 11/08/2011 start time: 2:00pm Present: Ron, Jill, Paul, Carrie Vicki emailed Jill Friday- should we have a committee for changes to operation manual o Ron-Could be part of compensation committee o Jill responded to Vicki- part of compensation committee suggestion o Paul feels council should do it- 2 members wrote the original o In Vicki email- committee for presentation regarding compensation at area colleges Jill concerned about number of people in committees Paul concurs Vicki stated hold off on Spirit and Kisses- waiting for more info Will be a holiday luncheon Maternity leave- must use all sick days and SP days o Maternity Clause? o Faculty has separate maternity leave- Paul does not want us compared to Faculty Loss of time between Christmas and New Years o Bigger than what it appears o Effects people differently o Committee- form questionnaire about other departments Inconsistent across the board; who can take a class, make up time, etc. Want different departments represented on committee HR changing positions-salary to hourly o Can we get people to tell us about the change? How it affects them? o Update of Group 3 members when change occurs Advertise group in HR for new hires o Lots of unknowns o Tracking hours is an issue HR is investigating levels and salaries o Salary and level chart is not public, make it public? o Discrepancy between vets and new people if raises occur o Loyalty to Clarkson, experience compensation o Benefits not the same for all employees-those without kids, not/can’t take classes Email out to Group 3 describing committees o Have not been removed from committee, just a renaming o Get others to join Final exam treats- during spring? No. Only a fall service. Wreath sale funds wording needs to be changed Meeting without speaker so we can have open discussion o Election meeting?
