1. On September 18 the consultants from Modern Think will hold sessions regarding the results
of the survey completed this winter.

7. Marketing Campaign Progression
a. 2005 – 2006: Defy Convention Rollout, focused on admission and direct marketing
b. 2006 – 2007: Refine the message, continue to get the word out
c. 2007 – 2008: Alumni Outreach
d. 2008 – 2009: Authenticate Brand. Asked current students “How believable and
compelling are our messages”. Found that students find that the messages around
interpersonal skills are the most compelling

8. New Emphasis for 2009 – 2010
a. Adirondack Initiative
i. 3400 of our alumni live in the Adirondacks (approximately 10%)
ii. More than 200 people have registered for the first annual conference for
Wired Work
iii. Helps Clarkson identify with our location
b. Veterans / GI Yellow Ribbon Campaign
c. Graduate School Identities
d. The Clarkson School
e. CU Logo Gear Improvements
f. Community Engagement
i. CU Community Webpage is being redesigned
ii. Flu “Button” on our homepage to provide information on any outbreaks and
precautions to take
iii. Check www.clarkson.edu/webcam to see all university webcams in one place
iv. Request was made to put all department .pdfs in one location, especially for
Admission Office

2. General Fund Balance: $485.30

Committee Reports:
1. Fundraising Committee
a. Eco Bag profit approximately $300 with 200 bags left to sell.
b. Fundraising Committee will be having a meeting in the next week to determine goals
and plans for the year.

New Business:
1. Committee Signup Sheet was passed around
2. Discussion on use of money in our general fund for moral boosting.
3. Discussion was held around changing the meeting time. By show of hands it was decided to
keep the meeting at lunch time. We will alternate between providing lunch and holding a
brown bag lunch.
4. Kate Mikel has stepped down from her role as Vice Chair on our council. Thank you for all of
your help throughout your term Kate!
5. The Council is accepting nominations (including self nominations) to fill the Vice Chari position
for the remainder of the current term (June 2010).
6. Thank you to Human Resources for the generous lunch donation!!
7. P&P’s need to be distributed to new employees

1. If you have office space available on 9/18 for recruiters to interview students after career fair,
please contact the career center.
