Mr. Beichler, Ms. Webber, Mrs. Haney, & Mr. Cook There are several new additions to the fourth grade team this year, and we are all very excited about this upcoming school year. There are several others members on our team, that will be working with your children as well. This year each classroom teacher is paired up with another co-teacher in their classroom. Ms. Webber is coteaching with Mrs. Marchant. Mrs. Haney is paired up with Ms. Mosquera. Mr. Cook is paired up with Mrs. Owens. Finally, Mr. Beichler is co-teaching with Ms. Yafuso. Curriculum A basic outline of current and upcoming units of study: Virginia Studies Geography & Native Americans: Vocabulary: Border, relative location, Coastal Plain, Fall Line, Piedmont, Blue Ridge Mountains, Valley and Ridge, Appalachian Plateau, Eastern Shore, Potomac River, Rappahannock River, York River, James River and Chesapeake Bay Reading – Fiction/Nonfiction Comprehension, Context Clues, & Word Origins: Vocabulary: Preview/Predict, Pizzazz words, Question, Visualize, Connect, Infer, Conclude, Summarize Thursday Envelopes. Each Thursday, your child will bring home a communication envelope. Inside will be important papers for you to look over. It is important that the folder is looked through each Thursday night and returned on the next school day. PLEASE sign the corresponding parent signature blank. Math –analog clocks, timeline, counting on, ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand, Homework. Students will usually hundred thousand, million, receive homework nightly, Monday rounding, estimation, through Thursday.
