Hello parents,

Hello parents,
Thank you for all you do to continue to support your child and our school. Below is some
information about what we are doing in our class this week! Please try to reinforce this at home
to help ensure success for your child.
This week we will be reviewing how to make predictions and connections and retell a story
when finished reading. Please be sure to read with your child every night for at least twenty
minutes. We will be starting PALS testing this week and DRA testing next week.
This week we will begin writing non-fiction books. Students will start this unit by choosing one
animal to research and writing an “All About” book using their knowledge and research.
We will be continuing our Money unit this week. Student will learn coin names, values, and how
to count coin combinations. Being able to skip count by 5’s, 10’s, and 25’s is very important
when learning how to count money, please practice this skill at home.
We are going to finish up our force and motion unit. We will discover kinds of movement (back
and forth, circular, vibration and straight) and types of forces (push and pull).

Thank you!
Thank you so much for the wonderful Teacher Appreciation week! I came in to a lovely
bouquet of flowers and a beautifully decorated door Monday morning. I won a raffle prize
during the week. I loved the goodies and pampering, too! Most of all, I love the sweet notes
from you and your children. Thank you for everything and for sharing your wonderful children
with me every day!
