parts of the video that we were able to see in class. If

1. What were some of the main causes of the Great Depression?
2. What are some ways the Depression affected the lives of Americans?

3. How did FDR’s New Deal attempt to address the causes and effects of the
Depression?
4. What is an earlier example you can think of when the government played an active
role in Americans’ lives? How does the New Deal compare to that time? (In other
words, how did the New Deal change the role of government?)
5. A “legacy” is like a reminder, a part of something that stays behind and never goes
away. What do you think is the legacy of the Depression? Of the New Deal? Are
there any parts of it still with us today?
