Welcome to Mrs. Brosan’s Class!
Dear Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to extend an enthusiastic second grade welcome to
you and your child! An exciting, fun-filled year of learning awaits us. This is my sixteenth year
teaching and I am thrilled to be working with both you and your child this school year! I hope to
instill a love for learning that will continue throughout your child’s life.
Working together as a collaborative team, I am confident that your support and
involvement will allow us to create an amazing second grade journey for your child! My goal in
the classroom is to make learning fun as we progress academically, socially and emotionally.
Together, we will create as authors, explore as scientists, discover as mathematicians and work
together as a community by discussing and sharing ideas.
Your child will bring home an “Everyday Folder” each day. It will be a main source of
communication. Please make sure it is returned each morning and please check it every evening.
At the beginning of each week, I also send home a Weekly Update (via email) highlighting our
learning objectives for the week. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not

I am thrilled to have your child in my class! I look forward to meeting you on Thursday,
August 27th at 6:00 pm for Back to School Night, where I will share important information with
you about my class and 2nd grade. Friday, August 28th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. is Open House. This
time will give your child an opportunity to meet me, visit the classroom and learn more about
what we will be doing this year. I look forward to seeing you soon!
