Using the correct reference source for a research project will save you time and energy.

An almanac is a book of brief facts, figures, and information on many different topics or a specialty topic.
Facts that may be found in an almanac:
Weather info, sports records, zip codes, famous people, government leaders, laws, country/state info

An atlas is a book of maps.

Bartlett’s Familiar Quotations is a widely-distributed collection of quotations by famous, infamous, and/or important people.

A dictionary is a book or online resource that provides definitions, spelling , pronunciations, syllables , etymology, parts of speech , and guide words. If you’re not sure how to spell a word, a dictionary is a good place to start.
5.
An encyclopedia is a book or set of books containing brief articles on various topics . The topics are organized in alphabetical order.
6.
A periodical index lists information by subject or by author . EBSCO is an online subscription of access to books, journals, and magazines.
7.
If I need to find a synonym or antonym for a word I use frequently, a thesaurus may help me find a better word choice.
