ReminderRaz-Kids
Try out this great reading program at home!
(Excerpt from Mrs. Rinehart’s article in the school newsletter)
I wanted to make sure all parents know about a wonderful web based reading program called RAZ-Kids.
Many of your children have accessed this program at school and many of your children have accessed the
program at home. I want to be sure that all parents realize this is a FREE program available to your
child(ren) and they have unlimited access on multiple devices. All children in grades from kindergarten to
third grade have been given access and assigned a personal reading assignment.
To log into the site you can use the hyperlink on our school web page or type www.razkids.com. Once on the
main page your child will need to know their teacher access code and possibly a password. Once into the
program your child will have access to a reading assignment and to a book room. Your child can listen and
read numerous books assigned to them at their independent reading level. Once the books are read your
child will be able to take a quiz. The quiz will allow your child’s classroom teacher to monitor your child’s
comprehension on a variety of skills. At the end of the quiz your child will get a score. This will also allow you
to see how well your child is progressing. The more your child accesses the program and completes reading
assignments, the more points they will earn. The points will give your child the ability to change their
individual avatar and play games. As your child completes books in their assignment, they will move up in
levels of difficulty. The program continuously updates with new engaging texts.

Student Password: This is the same password a student uses to log on
to computers at school. It is the month and date of the student’s birth,
expressed as numerals. For example, if the child’s birthday is August
5, the password would be 0805.
