Pre-assessments, open-ended questions, Think-Pair-Share STAGE III – LEARNING PLAN Interventions: Flexible grouping, students will be encouraged to attend Trig Lab Materials and Resources: Textbook, notes Assignments Procedures Instructional Procedures*: Monday Date: 2/9 Day: B “Do Now” – Find the speed of the second hand of a clock that is 5 cm long. “Mini Lesson” – Trigonometric Functions: The Unit Circle Students will begin an introduction to the unit circle. They will review the 6 trigonometric functions, and begin creating their own unit circle. Review various radian angle measures and the quadrants in which they are located. Tuesday 2/10 Day: A “Do Now” – List the 6 trigonometric functions and their ratios. “Mini Lesson” – Trigonometric Functions: The Unit Circle Students will complete their unit circle, and and begin evaluating trigonometric functions with the aid of their circle.. Textbook – Page 377 #1-29 odd Wednesday 2/11 Day: B “Do Now” – Evaluate the Sine and Cosine of particular angle measures. “Mini Lesson” – Trigonometric Functions: The Unit Circle Students will explore the domain and period of the Sine and Cosine fuctions. They will use the period of a function to evaluate the Sine and Cosine, and discover which trigonometric functions are even and odd. Textbook – Page 377 #31-38, 39-44, 45-54 Thursday 2/12 Day: A “Do Now” – Using the period, evaluate the Sine and Cosine of particular angle measures. “Mini Lesson” – Right Angle Trigonometry Students will evaulate trigonometric functions, particularly of 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 triangles.
