How to Update Your Profile
1. Go to http://www.mylearningplan.com/ and login … (see below for login information)
a. If you were hired for the 2007-08 school year or after OR if you’ve have had a name change since
then: Your login is your GroupWise ID + the @loudoun.k12.va.us address. Your GroupWise ID
is the 8 character User ID you use to login to GroupWise.
Example: mnichol2 is my GroupWise ID
I would login with …
i. Username = with mnichol2@loudoun.k12.va.us
(not Michelle.Nicholson@loudoun.k12.va.us)
ii. Password = default is loudoun (so unless you’ve changed yours use loudoun)
b. If you were hired before the 2007-08 school year and have not had a name change: Your login is
the first initial of your first name + your entire last name + the last THREE of your SSN
Example: I would login with ….
i. Username = mnicholson560
ii. Password = default is loudoun (so unless you’ve changed yours use loudoun)
c. If you cannot login, please contact:

2. On the lower left hand corner of your screen, under the Account Options heading, click on “My User
Profile”.
3. Your screen should now look similar to the screen below. Scroll down through the page and notice all the
options and the save button at the bottom. Do not make any changes (yet!). That is our next step.
4. My Learning Plan is used by all LCPS employees. Therefore it’s very important for your profile (work
location, grades taught, etc..) to be accurate. Below we will address each section individually.
5. BASIC INFORMATION SECTION
At a minimum this section should have your last name, first name and GroupWise e-mail address. I
would not use my home e-mail address in this section. Whatever e-mail address you have listed is where
MyLearningPlan will remind you of your upcoming events.
6. E-MAIL NOTIFICATION SECTION
This section is where you control if you do or do not want to receive e-mail notifications/reminders.
a. The New Activity Notification will e-mail you if new activities/classes become available to you.
i. Please set this to YES.
b. The Approval Notification will let you know when your requests have been approved
i. Please set this to YES.
c. The Upcoming Activities Reminder will e-mail you reminders prior to your activity beginning.
i. Please set this to YES
d. The # of days prior to Activity Start Date is the # of days before your activity is schedule to start
that you would like a reminder e-mail. The max # of days prior is 14 days. I set mine to 3,
anything more than 3 days out I will forget about but 3 days is still enough for me plan
accordingly.
7. BUILDING SECTION
In this section you want to put a check next to the current building you work in. If you only work in
Loudoun County High School only check Loudoun County High School. If you work at more than one
school, you are to only check your home school. (If you do not know what your home school is, please
contact your curriculum supervisor).
8. DEPARTMENT SECTION
In this section please put a check next to YOUR current department/classification. Typically you will only
check one department.
9. GRADE(S) SECTION
In this section please put a check next to the grade level(s) you teach. Example: If you teach only
English 10 – then you only have to check 10th grade. If you want to check 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th you can.
If you teach an elective class, then you probably have 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th students and therefore want
to check all four.
10. FINISH
Click the save button to save your profile
