The history of the Commonwealth continues to influence Pennsylvanians today, and has impacted the United States and the rest of the world. World History continues to influence Pennsylvanians, citizens of the United States and individuals throughout the world today. UNDERSTANDING GOALS (CONCEPTS): Students will understand: Social and cultural effects 1950's themes including: television, Cold War, communism, rock and roll, suburbs, highway expansion, etc. VOCABULARY: Social, cultural, political, cause and result. effects.etc. ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS: Was the 1950's a period of peace and prosperity? support your opinion with sources. STUDENT OBJECTIVES (COMPETENCIES/OUTCOMES): Students will be able to: Analyze the 1950's in regards to major themes and answer above question. STAGE II – ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE PERFORMANCE TASK:Students are to analyze and identify Social, economic, and culturral themes of the 1950's STAGE III: LEARNING PLAN INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS AND OTHER EVIDENCE:Students will continually be evaluated based on their: participation, behavior, through formative and summative assessment, discussion, and peer interaction. INTERVENTIONS: ASSIGNMENTS: PROCEDURES: (Active Engagement, Explicit Instruction, Metacognition, Modeling, Scaffolding) Students will be given an opportunity to revise his or she work, if :they regualry attend and participate in class, behave in an appropriate manner, and turn the assignment in on time.
