COURSE SYLABUS The Calligraphy course is designed to build on the fundamental skills in drawing, painting and design along with learning various calligraphy styles. Students will explore the use of various pen and ink techniques, along with looking into the history and use of calligraphy. The Printmaking course is designed to build on the fundamental skills of drawing, design and color along with learning various printmaking techniques. Students will explore the use of various drawing techniques that are relevant to each of the printmaking projects. We will also look into the history and use of printmaking past and present. Students will keep a portfolio of their assignments. This will be helpful in tracking their growth and progress. At the conclusion of the course, students will be able to: Demonstrate an understanding of the assignment by completion to the best of their ability. Understand the underlying principles involved in the projects through class participation, discussions and critiques. Develop and display a conscious use and respect for tools and materials.
