L.N.1 Reading for Meaning - Nonfiction Build Vocabulary: Derivatives Instructions: As your group reads the passage, identify unfamiliar vocabulary words from the reading and write them in the left-hand column below. Once you have finished reading, review your list. Some of the words have other words closely associated with them that give you a hint about the word’s meaning. In the middle column, write other words that are similar to the vocabulary word from the passage (similar roots, similar prefixes and/or suffixes, etc.).
