Friday, October 2, 2015 Dear Parents, This week, we learned about apples. On Monday, we learned about the life cycle of an apple. We understand that there are simple repeating patterns in life. On Tuesday, we sorted apples by color and counted the number of 3 different sets – red, green, and yellow. We recorded our data on a graph. On Wednesday, we read: Apples Grow On Trees. This is a non-fiction book that explains how apples grow. On Thursday, we worked as naturalists in our Garden Lab. We discussed how to identify and describe the characteristics of living things. On Friday, we read our Shared Reading poem: Apples, Apples. We also used colorful squares of paper and paper plates to create a model of an apple, including the skin, seeds, and flesh. Have a happy weekend! Love, The Kindergarten Stars
