December News Ms Laura and Ms Lynn’s Class Website for the month: http://www.floridapartnership.usf.edu/programs_services/earlychild/tip.htm Books we will read this month will have the theme of bears and winter. We will also continue to focus on shapes; we have been talking about triangles (pumpkin eyes) and the younger students will concentrate on circles, and the older students on stars. Our art themes will focus on winter, trees, and kindness. We will also read traditional holiday stories (Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer) throughout the month. In addition to reading holiday stories, we will sing Jingle Bells, Frosty, Rudolph, etc. If there are any secular favorites that your family loves, please let me know. Did you have any questions about your child’s progress report that went home the week before the break? ***************************************** Words to Practice Please talk to your child all the time! It helps if you give him or her choices. Allow him or her to answer you with words or sounds instead of anticipating their wants and needs. ************************ I am always happy to speak with you! No question is a silly one. The best way to reach me is through email: Laura.Lowther@lcps.org or through the school phone number 571 434 4560. I appreciate your availability and time. I look forward to our monthly visit when we can discuss your child’s progress in detail. It’s getting colder outside! Our classroom is warm, but the temperature outside is getting colder and we want to be sure the children are warm on the days we go outside to play. (We do go outside if the temperatures are not freezing). Please send in gloves or mittens (that are marked with your child’s name). Our last day of school will be December 18th. We return on Monday, January 4th.
