Adaptations Study Guide
Organisms, such as plants and animals, have adaptations that help them survive in their
environment. These adaptations can be structural or behavioral.
Structural Adaptations- Physical attributes that help organisms meet a life need. Example:
camouflage, body covering, mimicry
Behavioral Adaptations- Certain types of activities organisms perform, which help them meet
a life need. Example: migration, hibernation
When preparing for your test, please study:
*Vocabulary words: environment, climate, oxygen, shelter, metamorphosis, adaptation,
camouflage, mimicry, instinct, migration, hibernation
*Graphic Organizer (Lessons 1-3)
