Widgets - Improve me nt s to t he My Org Units widget | Updated
A search bar has been added to the My Org Units custom widget to enable users to quickly find the org unit they are
looking for from long lists. The search bar searches by Org Unit Name and Org Unit Code and supports partial matching
of entered search terms.
In addition, the My Org Units widget now displays multiple org unit types. Previously the widget configuration required
administrators to select only one type of org unit to display in the widget. To enable users to distinguish between
multiple org units in one list, the Org Unit Type now appears along with the Org Unit Name.

Features
The My Org Units widget now features traditional paging for long lists of items, in place of the previous "Load More"
button. This change allows the widget to maintain a consistent size while accommodating long lists of org units.

Fixed Issues
Fixed Issues
Calendar
PRB0050887
Previously, when you added a date to a dropbox folder, such as a due date, start date, or end date, an associated
calendar event may have appeared in the course schedule multiple times.
Now, when you add a date to a dropbox folder, only one associated calendar event appears in the course schedule.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.4.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
In a course, go to Content.
2.
Click New > New Dropbox.
3.
Enter a title and click Publish.
4.
On the Activity Details tab, click Add dates and restrictions....
5.
Click Add due date and enter a date.
6.
Click Update.
7.
Navigate to the course schedule and observe that there is only one calendar event for the due date you added in
step #5.
PRB0050669
In some cases, when a calendar event was linked to a content module or other tool item, the description of the module
appeared twice.
Now, when a calendar event is linked to a content module or other tool item, the description of the module only
appears once in Calendar, as expected.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.3.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
Add a description to a content module.
2.
Create a new calendar event and link it to the module.
3.
Observe that the description only appears once in the calendar event.

Fixed Issues
PRB0051059
In some cases, the mini-calendar in the sidebar of the Calendar tool did not respond to keyboard navigation as
expected. The mini-calendar was not included in the tab key order, causing usability issues. If you successfully selected
the mini-calendar, moving between days in the mini-calendar using keyboard navigation did not progress as expected.
Now, the mini-calendar in the Calendar tool better responds to keyboard navigation and usability is improved.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.0.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
In Calendar, press Tab on your keyboard to shift the focus in the tool.
2.
Observe that the mini-calendar receives the focus at the expected point in the tab key order cycle.
3.
With the focus on the mini-calendar, press Tab on your keyboard to shift the focus to the next day in the calendar.
4.
Observe that the focus shifts to the expected date.
Content
PRB0050866
Previously, when the status of a content topic was changed from draft to published or vice versa, the visual indicator
did not update immediately in all cases for the user who was making the changes, even though it updated for the users
the content applied to.
Now, when the status of a content topic is changed between draft and published, the visual display updates
immediately for the user applying the change.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.4.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
In a course, access the Content tool.
2.
From the Table of Contents, select a module that contains content topics.
3.
From the context menu of one of the content topics, select Edit Properties In-place.
4.
Change the state of the topic between Published and Draft modes.
5.
Observe that the visual indicator updates immediately with each change.
PRB0050886
Previously, when you opened a PDF file in Content, a broken link error was generated.
Now, when you open a PDF file in Content, a broken link error is not generated.

16
Brightspace Platform 10.5.7
Fixed Issues
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.4.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
In the Config Variable Browser, ensure that d2l.Tools.DocumentViewers.CustomPdfRendererEnabled is set to
on.
2.
Upload a PDF file to Content.
3.
View the PDF file.
4.
Check in the Broken Links (Broken Link Viewer) tool.
5.
Observe that viewing the PDF file does not generate an error.
Discussions
PRB0051256
Previously, when navigating using the browser's back button from within a discussion thread, previously set filters
would not be remembered so you would have to navigate again to find the relevant discussion thread.
Now, when navigating using the browser's back button from within a discussion thread, previously set filters at the
topic level are remembered so you don't lose your place.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.6.
Dropbox
PRB0051006
Previously, an error occurred if you set a start date for an assignment from the dropbox folder in D2L Learning
Environment that was after the end date in the Turnitin LTI integration.
Now, D2L Learning Environment always sends both a start and end date to Turnitin to ensure that the start date occurs
before the end date.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.4.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
Create a dropbox folder but do not set a start or end date.
2.
Enable the Turnitin LTI Integration.
3.
Access Turnitin.
4.
Notice that Turnitin displays a start date that is one day before the current date, and an end date that is one week
from the current date (eight days after the calculated start date).

17
Brightspace Platform 10.5.7
Fixed Issues
5.
In the dropbox folder, set the start date so that it is after the current end date in Turnitin.
6.
Access Turnitin.
7.
Observe that in Turnitin, the end date has been adjusted to two weeks after the new start date and an error does
not occur.
PRB0050480
Previously, Turnitin originality reports became unavailable after a course end date had passed.
Now, Turnitin originality reports can be viewed after a course end date has passed.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.3.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
Within a course, create a Turnitin-enabled dropbox folder.
2.
As a learner, submit a file to the dropbox folder.
3.
As an instructor, confirm that the submission was sent to Turnitin and that an originality report displays.
4.
In Course Administration, access Course Offering Information.
5.
Update the course so that it occurs either before the assignment start date, after the assignment end date, or
make the course inactive.
6.
Navigate back to the dropbox folder and observe that the Turnitin originality report still displays.
Email
PRB0050401
Previously, when you attempted to email the classlist or reply to an email on an iPad running iOS 9, the Compose Email
dialog box appeared significantly magnified.
Now, when you attempt to email the classlist or reply to an email on an iPad running iOS 9, the Compose Email dialog
box appears as expected.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.3.0.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
Log in to D2L Learning Environment using desktop view on an iPad running iOS 9.
2.
Navigate to a course with students.
3.
In the Classlist tool, click Email Classlist.
4.

Fixed Issues
5.
Observe that the Compose Email dialog box appears as expected.
HTML Editor
PRB0051053
Previously, when you changed the font or font family of text in the HTML Editor, the fonts were not displayed
accurately.
Now, when you change the font or font family of text in the HTML Editor, the fonts are recognized accurately and
display properly.
Found in Brightspace platform 10.5.5.
PRB0051199
Previously, on the Edit HTML File page, clicking the paste button displayed an error message stating that the browser
doesn't support paste.
The paste button has since been removed from the HTML Editor so the error message no longer displays.
Found in Brightspace platform 10.5.6.
Import/Export/Copy Components
PRB0050925
In some cases, the course that you indicated you wanted to reoffer in Course Management was not automatically
propagated to later steps of the Copy or Import Course Components process.
Now, when you select a course in Course Management that you want to reoffer, it remains selected as you complete
the Copy or Import Course Components process.
Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.4.
To reproduce this fix:
1.
In Course Management, click Create a new Course Offering or Template.
2.

After clicking Email Users Without Submissions within a dropbox folder, the To field displays ALL students in the
classroom that have not made any submissions to the folder. This occurs even if the instructor is not enrolled in the
same section as the student and is therefore unable to see them in any other part of the course. Clicking Email Users
Without Submissions should allow you to email those users within the class that you have permission to view
