LEGAL BASIS
The Department OF Statistics (DOS), was
established in 1949 under the statistical law no.
24 of 1950 and its amendments, until 2012
where a new provisional law replaced it.

MISSION STATEMENT
To produce and disseminate timely and
high-quality statistical data that meet the
user’s various and changing needs with a
view to contributing to the comprehensive
development process in Jordan .

ORGANIZATION
DOS consists of twelve directorates and fiftythree divisions.
At the top of hierarchy is the Director General
who reports to the Minister of Planning.

Jordanian Department of Statistics has been
working for over 62 years to collect data
about all aspects of life, and is committed

needs.
