c. CTC PARs (Program Assessment Reports): Ongoing submission and approval
Approved: Admin, AG, Bilingual, Multiple Subject, Single Subject.
In the pipeline: SPED, CMSD, PPS, APE
i. Mimi just attended an NCATE visit at another campus to gain experience
for what to expect during our own visit. One thing that came up was
training for mentors/Cooperating Teachers, so expect to be asked that
during the NCATE visit.
d. Expect emails asking for additional information. Dropbox for programs outside
SOE, BbLearn for programs inside SOE.
3. Discussion
a. Assistive Technology workshop February 27 (Talya Kemper)-35 CMSD students
are expected to attend. Michael Gonsalves will be sending a reminder to students
before the event. We need an accurate headcount for catering purposes, so
encourage students to attend and register via the Googledoc. Students from all
programs are invited.
i. Agenda-The first presentation will cover two case studies, second
presentation will be by Dr. Caroline Musselwhite, the keynote speaker for
the day. After lunch Talya, Maria, and Mary will present a short session on
special education and EL students. Jeremy from ARC will present on
computer accessibility features. Final event is discussion of the case
studies.
ii. Case Studies-Talya shared the two case studies to be presented at the AT
workshop. One is for an elementary student, one for a secondary student.
Maria recommended providing students with a graphic organizer to keep
notes throughout the day that would be relevant for the case study
discussion. Talya is still revising the case studies and would appreciate
feedback on the case studies and tasks for students to relate to all
pathways. Additional task question: given the opportunity to collaborate,
what support would you offer? Both case studies are male as males are
more likely to have a disability. A cheat sheet for faculty with answers to
the case studies would be appreciated.
b. Cooperating Teacher/Mentor Support-tabled for next time.
