All in favor and the minutes are approved. Additions Or Corrections To Agenda: Brianne would like to add CWU Chapter By-law application under new business. Mary would like to add CWU students for life and Service learning and leadership club to the agenda. Jenn would like to add Haley Baar to SAS appointments. Also, remove the report from Aubrey Abbott. Approval of Agenda: Brianne motions to approve the minutes with the above corrections, Kelsey seconds and the minutes are approved. Officer Reports · Executive Vice President: Clint Wylie BODEVP@cwu.edu- He has been working with the publicity center on creating some committee postcards to pass out and inform the students. He has also been working on emails to get people excited about serving on various committees. He attended the budget and finance counsel about student waivers. Also, He recently hired a new front desk alternate, Mia Graham and we will be welcoming her to the team this week. · Vice President for Clubs and Organizations: Mary Orthmann BODClubs@cwu.edu- she doesn’t have much to report tonight but the next club senate and funds counsel will be on March 6th in Dean 104 at 7:00. If you need a funds request please get it in by Friday. · Vice President for Academic Affairs: Jennifer Arledge BODAcademic@cwu.edu- nothing new to report this week. · Vice President for Equity and Community Affairs: Bryan Elliot BODCommunity@cwu.edu- lately they have been working on organizing the office and chronologically dating documents. They have been working to schedule an Ellensburg Alumni job fair to interest students in different fields. They are looking to host a similar event. Show time at the McConnell is March 7th and if you are interested in specifics you can come into his office. · Vice President for Student Life and Facilities: Kelsey Furstenwerth BODStuLife@cwu.edu- they are looking for some members to serve on the wildcat shop advisory board. Get more info from her and or there is a link on the BOD Facebook. Recreation advisory board is looking for student input about the rec centers dress code; you can complete a survey online or in front of the rec center. Right now they are trying to educate students on why they need a dress code and enforcing those reasons. · Vice president for Legislative Affairs: Brianne Wood BODLeg@cwu.edu- first off, Lobby day was a great success! We had over 100 students attend; we had the largest showing from Washington schools! Cwu was the only public university that was granted the micro grant and our campus will be kicking off civics week for the entire state of Washington! This weekend she will be attending the northwest student’s conference! There will be a workshop and information to follow. · President: KJ Stilling BODPresident@cwu.edu- Lobby day was a great success! The CDSJ is hosting the annual Women’s achievement celebration; they are seeking nominations for this event. Nominations for men are also acceptable. These awards will be given next quarter as well. More information can be found upstairs! Tuesday last week he met with the dean of student success, this year the university is allotting funds to a senior celebration and we are looking for a catchy name for the event. It will be the beginning of a tradition, it will be held downtown between 4th and 5th ave. Our elections coordinator report: every position within elections has been filled with at least one applicant and we are looking forward to a great election season! It is a paid position and it is a great way to gain experience. She is going to continue campaigning this week and getting students hyped for elections. Special Guests: Club Appointments: • CWU Students for Life- pro-life group working to abolish abortion. They meet every Friday at 3:00 in the upstairs SURC. • Service learning and leadership club- they give students the opportunity to learn to lead and their end goal is to go to Guam through fundraising. They will meet every two weeks, most likely in the pavilion but they don’t have a set date and time yet. Mary entertains a motion to approve the clubs, Jenn motions to approve the service learning and leadership club. Clint seconds. All in favor and the clubs are approved. Bryan motions to approve the CWU students for life club and Clint seconds with 4 abstentions and they are approved. SAS Appointments: Haley Baar- Bryan moves to appoint her as the alternate for psych, Jenn seconds with one abstention. She is appointed. All in favor and the motion carries. · CWU Chapter By-law application“We, the students of Central Washington University, through democratic participation in our representative body, the Washington Student Association (WSA), as student activists and advocates dedicated to the principles of expanding access to higher education for all persons regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, financial constraint, political affiliation, veteran's status or religious affiliation, do hereby ordain this constitution. Issues/Concerns/Announcements: • Society and Manufacturing Engineers- they will recognize them with the intent to turn in their paperwork. They meet in Hogue at 2:15 pm. Mary would like to entertain a motion to recognize the above club, Jenn so moves and Bryan seconds with one abstention. Mathew Baird- they are hosting an event at 5:00 pm tomorrow in the SURC pit; it will consist of an open panel to discuss the admin fee.
