Summary: Under minimal supervision, the HR Generalist supports the Human Resource Department with full cycle recruitment, performance management, benefits, employee relations and payroll assistance. This position is essential in supporting SEFNCO Communications by interacting with various managers, departments, and field personnel. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing SEFNCO Communications Performance Management Plan Regularly interpreting policies, ensuring compliance with all polices, company processes, and state/federal employment laws. Partners with all levels of management and employees to communicate various HR objectives and procedures in compliance with company policy and employment law Conducts internal investigations as assigned by Company management or HR Manager Acts as a point of contact for managers and provides support in regards to employee relations issues, inquiries and complaints. Provides prompt and appropriate guidance Drafts communications, investigative reports and works effectively in conjunction with department management, and legal counsel when directed to do so by HR management Assist with implementing and managing all aspects of SEFNCO Communications Training & Development Program Research and develop accurate job descriptions, building consensus regarding key requirements Assist with salary administration to include wage surveys and regular review of internal salary matrix Assists with all recruiting initiatives to include updating job postings, managing internal and external job posting, attending job fairs, etc. Benefits administration, including employee education and assistance, vendor communication, open enrollment rollout, and reconciliation of vendor invoices Assist with processing and managing of worker’s compensation claims Ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws which will require an on-going commitment to continuing education and familiarity with changes in labor laws and regulations Secondary Duties: Serve as Payroll Specialist backup Assist with new hire orientation and processing. Help plan open enrollment and benefit meetings. Assist with maintaining employee files Reconcile monthly insurance invoicing. Assist with benefit enrollments and inquiries, along with 401(k) plan administration. Prepare, maintain and create reports as needed. Assist with FMLA administration. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Communication and/or related field 3+ years of progressive and relevant level HR experience in the areas of employee relations, internal investigations, conflict resolution and performance management Creativity, innovation and the ability to solve problems and generate viable solutions Must be approachable and effective with ability to influence change across all levels of the organization Must have good time management skills and be able prioritize duties Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, but also sensitive situations where information must be shared on a an ‘need to know’ basis Good knowledge of related federal employment laws/regulations including ADA, EEO, and FMLA. Knowledge of CO, CA and WA state employment laws/regulations Demonstrate and maintain a positive customer service focus to both internal and external customers Ability to work on multiple projects at once Highly organized person and can show planning and processes to support daily work Proficient with Microsoft Office products (with emphasis on Excel) Excellent verbal, written, phone, and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast paced high volume work environment Dependable, flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as needed Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
