How to Request a Student All on-campus student jobs (Ellensburg and the Centers) are posted in Recruiting Solutions in MyCWU. All student jobs must have a position number and a job description number. Below are the instructions to find your position number and to request a new job code/position number: The first step is to find the position number that goes with your posting. To view the actual position numbers for your current staff, navigate to Main Menu > Human Resources > Manager Self Service > CW HR Transactions > View Employee Personal Information. The position numbers are set up by using 6 criteria that need to match. They are: Job Code Department Reports To Location Code Union (not used for students employees) Funding If any of these codes are different, the position number must be different. Below are the steps to take if you need a new position number: First check to see if there’s a job code already set up that you can use: Job Code List If you do not find a job code number you can use, you will need to request a new number with New Job Number Request Form. Please refer to the “How to Post a Quality Job Posting” to fill out the request. You will be emailed a new job code after it has been created. The next step is to request a new position number. MyCWU > Main Menu > Human Resources > Manager Self Service > CW HR Transactions > Request a New Position - click on “Add a New Value” tab. You will need to click on the “Attachment” tab and attach a word document with the information you prepared to create the job code (job summary, required qualifications, preferred qualifications, job duties, educational benefits, hourly pay, schedule, hours per week, and working conditions). You will be emailed the new position number after it has been created. When you receive your position number, sign into Recruiting Solutions and “create a job opening”. MyCWU > Main Menu > Human Resources > Recruiting > Create Job Opening We have a comprehensive Recruiting Solutions guide to assist you with navigating the system.
