CWU Application Instructions
2015-2016
1. Familiarize yourself with the purpose and details of the Barry Goldwater
Scholarship: http://www.act.org/goldwater/
2. Determine an appropriate CWU faculty sponsor and discuss your potential
application with him/her.
3. Fill out and submit a “Preliminary CWU Application” found at:
http://www.cwu.edu/sciences/undergraduate-scholarships
by 5:00 pm, Friday, November 20, 2015 to:

4. The CWU Goldwater Advisory Committee will review all preliminary applications
and select a maximum of four to be developed into a full application. Those
applicants will be notified by December 2, 2015.
5. Full applications will be developed in consultation with the faculty sponsor.
6. Draft applications, including letters of recommendation, are due to the Advisory
Committee on Monday, January 11, 2016.
7. Deadline for final student application to the national Goldwater office is Friday,
January 22, 2016 at 5:00 pm CT (3:00 pm Pacific Time).
