Advanced Placement &
International Baccalaureate credits
• Some graduate programs may not accept AP/IB credits for pre-requisites
• AP/IB curriculum is not always sufficient preparation for entrance exams
(MCAT, PCAT, DAT) or the level of rigor in health professional programs
• Even if a school will accept these credits, a student will not receive a grade
for the coursework and this can be a disadvantage for applicants
• For students with AP/IB credits, we recommend taking the corresponding
UW course and earn a (great) grade OR take the honors sequence
• Running Start credits are almost universally accepted for professional health
programs with the small exception of those programs that do not accept
credits from community colleges
