TODAY’S OBJECTIVES:
Students will examine how the author’s purpose affects
his/her use of language and choice of form.
AGENDA:
1. Complete warmup #24 on the following English
proverb: “A hero is someone who is afraid to run
away.” What does that quote mean? Do you agree
with the quote? What about in times of war?
2. Continue first chapter (pg. 269-291) from The
Things They Carried together. Why are the things
they carried so important? Why is there a need for
so many different classifications?
3. Watch PBS Documentary Bloods in ‘Nam. What
rhetorical devices (ethos, pathos, logos) does the director
use to make his story compelling?
4. Begin Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers. Review
reading schedule.
