TODAY’S OBJECTIVES:
Students will examine how the author’s purpose affects his/her
use of language and choice of form
AGENDA:
1. Complete warmup #4 on the following quote from
Confucius: “Only the supremely wise and the
ignorant do not alter.” What is Confucius trying
to say here?
2. From Collections workbook, read excerpts from
“Nature” and “Self-Reliance” and then complete
ALL questions/prompts on pp. 42-48.
3. Complete the documentary entitled Which Way Home;
take notes about various characters you meet in
film (see handout). Complete written response
about film on back of worksheet – has your
perception on illegal immigration changed as a
result of this film? If so, how? Turn in when
complete.
