TODAY’S OBJECTIVES:
Students will examine how the author’s purpose affects
his/her use of language and choice of form (MCPS 3.4.2)
AGENDA:
1. As a class, read story “Salvation” by Langston Hughes
and analyze purpose. Then write a ½-1 page
reflection about the following topic:
Have you ever failed to live up to the
expectations of someone else (parents, teachers,
coaches, minister, etc.) What happened(plot)?
How have you changed as a result of that
experience? Tell me a story….
2. In preparation for upcoming interim test, read
“Young Goodman Brown” (see webpage) and answer
multiple choice questions.
