After doing much research on Graduate school programs, I am very interested in the psychology
programs that Loyola University has to offer. The Masters of Psychology and Doctorate of
Psychology combination is a program that I intend to pursue with great enthusiasm and effort.
After extensive examination of the programs, I firmly believe that my skills and background will
be an asset to your institution.
After much time and dedication at Salisbury University, I am soon to be a graduate with a
Bachelor of the Arts with a major in Psychology. With practice in communication skills, problem
solving, detail focusing, and leadership skills, I am able to work with a team as well as
independently. I have achieved an outstanding academic record while obtaining twenty credits
this semester. Currently, I am working on an independent research project in the field of
cognitive psychology that has enabled me to obtain hands on experience in applying my
academics. My research looks at the way college students make important decisions, specifically
about their major. I have high hopes that this will affect how counselors interact with students in
this matter. The combination of my academics and real world experiences had provided a
foundation to encounter any challenges that I may undertake with this program
In addition to my academic pursuits, I have also maintained an extensive out of class schedule. I
have held an employment position as Resident Assistant on the Salisbury University Campus. I
am also involved in numerous campus activities to include the Psychology Club, Psi Chi, and
Active Minds. I have also dedicated much time to volunteer with non- profit organizations that
benefit people of all ages. I present these experiences to you for you to know that I have a very
strong work ethic and with this I look forward to the challenges of your program.
