Practical and theoretical study of 3D forms main composition and the method of placing them in space, architectural composition, practicing and creating their Architectural identity in space, construction and methods of application in design, the design of two projects like kiosks and pergolas etc., for the development of the students visual perception through the design of applicable building in order to train students to better understand their environment and culture. Course module objectives: 1. To introduce students to new design themes by studying the development of multi-functional buildings, modern trends in international architecture and sustainability methods and making them capable of dealing with design principles through modeling. 2. To develop students’ imagination and thinking to visualize three-dimensional drawings that expresses their personality. 3. To develop students’ abilities to introduce complicated concepts and themes. Course/ module components This course is achieved through 8 hours working studios per week by specialized tutors. Books (title, author(s), publisher, year of publication): A number of journals and books are suggested at the end. Support materials: Students have to develop their own experiences through looking at examples from Internet and library and visiting different sites and cities. Homework and laboratory guide: students are requested to prepare a sketch book, portfolio, album, etc. Teaching methods: Studios over the week should provide the students with enough information to develop their own projects and concepts. Students are required to share and prepare material related to their projects’ theme. Sketch designs and long-term projects are carried throughout the whole semester. Learning outcomes: Knowledge and understanding: To build up abilities in designing threedimensional multi-functional buildings. Cognitive skills (thinking and analysis): Develop personal abilities in design Communication skills (personal and academic): students will be able to communicate and interpret their own design with others. Practical and subject specific skills (Transferable Skills): This course will enable the students to design using different ideas with higher degrees of complexities by using the proper methods.
