DMC Community Resource Committee Proposed Objectives: 1. To develop strategies for educating the community about DMC and its importance; 2. To initiate focus groups or community forums in target communities to explore perceptions regarding law enforcement, the court system, families and the community; 3. To identify effective strategies for achieving the maximum level of parent participation in issues relating to the well-being and success of minority youth, including family empowerment strategies; 4. To provide insight into the political, social, cultural and other impediments to fairness and equity in the juvenile justice system; and 5. Based on assessment of the DMC issue, recommend prioritization of identified needs for consideration and final decision by the full Oversight Board.
