Annual Report, 2008-09 Career Services for the Fulton School Career services extended to YOUR students this past academic year include: Conducted 103 presentations, 24 of those were for the Fulton students and included: Art -2 Classes CMAT -11 Classes and 1 Club Psychology -10 Classes and forums Honors – Writing Personal Statements 35 orientation sessions conducted for first-year students, preparing them for program planning activities. Career Services had 2,012 individual student appointments, 480 appointments with Fulton students. (Table 1). The vast majority of students were most often referred to the Career Office by “self”, with “faculty” and “friends” being the next biggest source of referrals. eRecruiting (Our online database providing services to students, alumni and employers.) 578 Fulton Students logged into the system. 168 Fulton Students found/contacted at least one mentor (800 SU alums who have volunteered to assist current students in their career pursuits) using the Mentor Network on eRecruiting. Our student’s resumes were viewed 2,851 times by 335 different employers. Communicate opportunities via email to students: o Job Alerts emailed to seniors-606 o Internship Alerts emailed to Juniors-441 (100 more internship listings this year) Organized 5 Job Fairs for students, including: o Fall General Job and Internship Fair- 87 employers attended, 428 student attendees o Spring General Job and Internship Fair- 80 employers attended, 638 student attendees, 147 Fulton Students o SU/UMES Education Job Fair- 47 employers participated, 200 student attendees o Summer Job Fair- 25 employers participated, 284 student attendees, 59 Fulton Students o Health Care Job Fair- 35 employers participated, 11 Fulton Students attended Over 36 employers conducted 394 on-campus interviews, 30 employers held Information Sessions or hosted information tables on-campus. During On-Campus Interviews employers rated our students on average 2.21 in questions concerning interview preparedness and quality. (1-5 scale with 2 being “Above Average”). Total First Destination Survey: Every year as students pick up their caps and gowns we set up several computers in the Bookstore for them to complete an online survey that lets us know where they are going after graduation…their “first destination”.
