Creating a Glog Go to www.edu.glogster.com Start by logging in. Your teacher will give you a paper that has your nickname and password. Do not enter anything when it says you can enter your name. Close the pop-up. You should now see the Glogster dashboard. Your nickname will appear right below the word dashboard. To begin, click the large pink button that says Create New Glog. The first screen is one in which the wall and some objects are placed to get you started. Not that a Tool Menu shows as well. Click the button labeled Wall. You have two tabs: Glog Wall and Page Wall. On the Glog Wall tab, there are categories listed down the left. For each category, there are 1 or more pages with links shown along the bottom. When you click on a choice, it will show on the right in the preview area. Click through the categories and pages until you find one you like. When it shows in the Preview area click the Use Glog now changes. it! button. The background or wall of your Next, click on the Graphics label of the tool Menu. As before you have categories down the left and pages will be listed along the bottom. Select a graphic in the same way as you did the background. Once you are finished you can edit and move the graphic by clicking on it. Drag it where you want it. Note that when the graphic is selected, it has a menu of its own. Click on Edit to see your choices. Across the top of the menu, OK is says you are done. The Color Bar allows you to change the color of the graphic. Click in the color spectrum to choose a color. Your selection will show in the boxes on the right. You can also alter the saturation to the left of the color boxes on the right. When satisfied, click Apply. You can add a link to a website with the second button that looks like a link. This will make the whole graphic a link. The last button is the Effects button. This allows you to add a shadow to your graphic. You can change the blur, the angle, the distance, and the color of the shadow. The other tab, Alpha, allows you to change the color opacity or transparency of the graphic. When you’re finished, click OK. Text is next on the menu. You can add plain text or you can pick a text object. You can add bubbles, titles, and plain text. You can also choose a graphic frame by using the categories on the left side of the pop-up. Don’t forget the page links are listed along the bottom. You can edit the text by clicking on the text object and choosing edit from the menu bar. When you edit and enter text, make sure you highlight the text to select it. Then you can add links, change colors, fonts and add characters. You can alter the color, make it a link, change the font, and give it a shadow as you did with the other objects. Click OK when you are done. To add an image, click Image in the Menu box. You need to upload an image from your computer. Click Upload and then browse to where the image is saved. Once the image is uploaded, clicking on it will make it appear in the preview window on the right. You can give it a frame by clicking on Add a Frame under the image, or click on the Frames tab at the top. Choose your frame as you did under graphics. For frames, you must first click on an image to select under the images tab. Then each frame will show what it looks like and if you say use it, the image will be embedded in the frame. Video, the next menu item works the same way that images did. The exception is that you can search Schooltube by clicking on the Schooltube button on the left and then entering your search term in the search box at the top. You can play your video to preview it in the preview pane. After finding the video you want to use, choose a player by clicking on the Players tab. For sound, you must upload your own sound and then choose a player as you did for video. If you had a data chart or spreadsheet it could be uploaded in a similar manner. The last menu choice is Draw. If you click on the Draw button, you get a canvas that allows you to create your own drawings. You get only a pencil with which to draw. Once you are done editing, you clan click on the Preview Button at the top to see what it will look like live. You can go back to edit mode by clicking Back to Edit. When you are satisfied, click Save or Publish. You can still go back and edit if you need to.
