Sketch must include all data for each constellation
observed.
Sketch must show the dot-to-dot stick figure pattern
and a freehand picture of the Greek mythological
character represented by the constellation.

REQUIREMENTS: To earn this award, the Junior Astronomer must perform the following tasks:
1. Locate 2 constellation patterns in the night sky.
2. In the boxes below, draw by freehand the dot-to-dot stick figure pattern that is seen in the sky as well as a picture of the
mythological character the pattern represents.
3. Fill in the observation data for each constellation including the number of hand spans (how high) the constellation is
above the horizon.
MATERIALS NEEDED: Sky Map for the month you are observing (download from the Jr. Astronomer
website). *Parental assistance is encouraged! The Junior Astronomer may need assistance locating each constellation in the night
sky. Make it a family project!
