Define development needs and criteria for a 10-year time frame. Define benchmarks, set goals for measuring productivity and condition of facilities, parking, and real estate. 4 April 7, 2003 Campus ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Planning: Identified campus needs for master plan development. Established Campus Planning Executive Committee (CPEC) to coordinate campuswide planning. Establish goals for improvement, with a timeline and action steps for achieving goals. 16 April 7, 2003 Community Engagement ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Neighborhood Relations: Conducted focus group meetings with neighborhood organizations (ongoing). Established a Neighborhood Liaison in the Office of the President. Initiated comprehensive Broadway cleanup and beautification projects with weekly upkeep of neutral grounds. 19 April 7, 2003 Community Engagement ACCOMPLISHMENTS (cont’d.): Greek Life: Implemented new requirements for University recognition of Greek dwellings, including regular exterior inspections. Aggressively investigated and adjudicated cases involving Greek organizations violating alcohol and other policies. 22 April 7, 2003 Community Engagement GOAL: Attract the best and brightest among Louisiana high school students to Tulane and enhance the opportunities for every academically qualified Louisiana student to attend Tulane. 23 April 7, 2003 Community Engagement ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Developed “Louisiana Focus” initiative in 1999, aimed at increasing the enrollment of Louisiana residents. Created “Louisiana Scholars,” “Louisiana Valedictorian,” and “Book Award” scholarships. Offered automatic admission to Tulane for qualified Louisiana residents. 24 April 7, 2003 International Engagement GOAL: Enhance our position and reputation internationally through curriculum development and partnerships with premier international organizations; increase the number of Tulane students that have an international experience and the number of international students studying at Tulane. 25 April 7, 2003 International Engagement ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Increased reported number of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students studying abroad: 507 (AY 1998); 644 (AY 2001). Increased undergraduate study abroad programs (Lyon, Rome, Brazil, and Argentina). Completed assessment process of university-wide public relations, marketing, and communications strategies. Expanded Tulane Club listserv participation: 1,300 addresses (1998); 11,682 addresses (2003). Established international listservs in Panama, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, India, London, S.
