Canvas Issues for the Conversion of Moodle Quiz Modules
Stat 109 Trial, Spring Semester 2016
The Content Selector will Not Display.
Hello Tim,
1
Issue #8
Friday 3:50pm January 1st
This is a follow-up to our call earlier. You called Canvas Support today because you were not able to see the
content selector on the right of the edit page in your quiz. You tried to use another browser, but no dice. Can I
request trying to clear your cache and cookies again - PC / MAC? The content on the page is all the same and
should load properly with everything else. I'm not getting any other answers about why it wouldn't load that
way. Once we try all these things, we can get this escalated if the problem persists. Another thing we could try
is going into incognito mode on your browser. You can hold Ctrl(PC) or Cmd(MAC) + Shift + N to open up a
new incognito browser. If you have any additional questions or this doesn't resolve the issue, please don't
hesitate to give us a call or email us at support@instructure.com.

Hi Paige,
Friday 4:48 pm January 1st
Well Nothing worked.
I cleared all cookies from my Chrome Browser, No Luck
I tried “Incognito mode” on my Chrome Browser, No Luck
I tried using FireFox, No Luck
I tried another computer on campus and still no luck.
Luck being that I would be able to see the "Content Selector" which is supposed to display automatically when
one opens the "Rich Content Editor" when editing a problem within a quiz.
In Each case I do not see a "Content Selector".
I am attaching a screen shot of the No show "Content Selector".
Thanks, does this mean we can escalate or do you see a solution?
Tim
Hello Tim, Tuesday 9:12 pm January 5th
It seems that two emails were sent to you that you have not received. The first email is the one on top from
Kyle who escalated this issue to Keara who sent you the second email. You will find both emails below:
Hello Tim
Tuesday 9:12 pm January 5th
I appreciate your patience, and I apologize for the trouble so for too.
I looked into this for you, and based off your screenshot I believe I found the trouble you are having.
I've created a small screencast demonstrating the trouble, can you confirm this is the same?

In words, it looks like is what's happening, is the HTML element isn't scrolling with your page.
Can you verify for me, what we call the "Content Selector" is still there, just at the top?
In the demonstration, I provided a small work around. That is, placing your cursor and scrolling up to the Content
Selector for your material.
This is something I'm going to escalate to our software developers / engineers.
They can evaluate this further, and make sure we provide you with the best possible solution!
If I'm missing anything, please reply again and update this case.

Thank you for contacting Canvas Support. Your concern is that the 'Content Selector' does not scroll with the
page as it did prior to using the New UI. I have been testing this behavior and have been able to replicate it. I am
sending this up to our engineers so they can look further into this. I will attach this case to the tracker so that you
can be notified as any new updates become available from them.
The current workaround would be to place your cursor where you plan to insert the content and then scroll up to
the Content Selector. Please let us know if we can help with any further questions or concerns, we are happy to
help. :)
Thank you!
