To whom it may concern:
The IRB does not permit Biomedical and/or Social Behavioral IRB Committee Members to
participate in the discussion or vote on any protocol of which he is involved as an investigator. In
such instances, Committee members are required to recuse themselves from the deliberations and
are asked to leave the meeting room. The Chair is responsible for ascertaining a potential conflict
of interest and ensures that policy is adhered to prior to the review of all studies.
