Recognition Committee (8 members; 7 voting members)
The responsibilities of this committee are:
1. To recognize outstanding achievement of faculty members;
2. To recognize outstanding achievement of students by awarding department
scholarships, monitoring the departmental honors program, selecting
annual outstanding seniors, and arranging an annual recognition
reception;
3. To conduct annual election of faculty members to department committees;
4. To collect dues for the department social club; and
5. To plan social events, arrange hospitality activities, and send encouragement
to faculty members.
The committee is composed of six elected contact or tenure track faculty members
and one appointed faculty member (all voting), and one student member.
Department academic advisors serve in an n advisory capacity to the committee, as
needed. Elected member serve three year terms. A rotation system for the
committee has been established.
