Integration and upgrade of PCB tools
Project Background
 The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designers in Bologna
and Eugene use different software tools for schematic
capture and board layout
• Bologna - DxDesigner 2002 for schematic capture; Expedition
PCB 2002 for board layout
• Eugene - Design Capture 2005 for schematic capture;
Expedition PCB 2005 for board layout
 This divergence creates issues
• Differences in library structure leading to issues with design
data transfer between development and manufacturing
• Use of custom interfaces to extract component information and
upload BOMs to SAP
Integration and upgrade of PCB tools
Project Description
 Integration and upgrade project to
release a common set of tools for PCB
design
 Implement a transportable board design
database using a common CAE platform
and design processes at both Bologna
and Eugene facilities for PCB
development
