Dear 4-H High School Senior,
The Linn County Extension Council is sponsoring two $150 scholarships to deserving
Linn County 4-H members. Scholarships will be awarded in September to the recipients
after receiving proof they are in school.
Also with the same application, a winner will be chosen for the William and Bernice
Correll Memorial Scholarship to be announced during the Fair Premium Sale. To apply
for both of these scholarships, fill out the enclosed application and return it to the
Extension Office, Box 81, Linneus MO 64653 by April 20,2016.

Linn County 4-H Scholarship
Eligibility
 Must be a graduating high school senior
 Must be currently enrolled in a Linn County 4-H club
 Must be an active Linn County 4-H member for at least one year prior to applying
Application Formant
 Computer application using a computer, word processor or typewriter
 Title each section appropriately
 One page minimum, two page maximum to answer each sections
 Use 12-pitch font or smaller and double space between the sections

Section B – Leadership
Write one paragraph on each of the seven Leadership Life Skills (Understanding
Self, Communicating, and Getting Along with Others, Learning to Learn, Making
Decisions, Managing Resources and Working with Groups). It is very important
to relate these skills to the 4-H leadership roles you have held during the past two
years, such as holding an office, serving on a committee, and/or 4-H project work.
Discuss what you learned from your leadership experiences.
Section C – Work Experience
List any work experience and describe how it relates to your 4-H experience.
Section D – 4-H Story (one page maximum)
Share information about you as a person. Emphasize your personal growth and
development. This is your opportunity to share how 4-H has contributed to who
you are! You could include your most significant 4-H projects, activities and
experiences. If you identify projects and activities, discuss the skills you learned
and how these experiences are important to you now and in the future. Lists of
accomplishments, activities and projects are nice but the review committee is
more interested in what you learned from these experiences and how they will
assist you in the future.
Scholarship Guidelines
You will be judged based on the following 100 point scale. Two (2) $150.00 and
one (1) $200.00 scholarship will be given but you only need to enter one
application. All applications are due April 18th. WE WILL NOT accept late
applications.
