27th IATUL CONFERENCE
Oporto, Portugal, May 22-25 2006
Main Problems
1. It was not part of the Strategic Plan, can it works anyway?
2. Creating change before, during or after the project?
3. How many policies we have?
4. We use no standards: Dublin Core, SCORM, XML…
neither UPC templates
5. Can we obtain the same results with a no-cost policy
forever?
27th IATUL CONFERENCE
Oporto, Portugal, May 22-25 2006
Conclusions
1. The scope of the university library is changing again. We must be able to create
information, if possible as publishers, apart of the traditional services.
2. We have gained some users that have never come to enjoy the traditional
services .
3. Creating a service like the Factory means an essential part of the effort of
library staff.
4. Always there is the possibility to create materials following a line, a template;
useful for the majority of our users.
5. Enthusiasm is not the main part of the success.
