Habitat Build Days-Oct. 25th. It went well thanks for those who helped.
WISE (Women in Science Endeavors) Event: Ladies served as mentors to middle
school girls living in rural areas wanting to learn more about science careers. It was
a lot of fun and thanks to the ladies who showed up to mentor!
Programs/Events:
 Do we want to try to conduct a service event for the month of November? As of
right now we are doing the Pop Tart Drive. Suggestions below. Feel free to offer
other suggestions.
 Habitat Build Day
 Bingo Night at a nursing home
 Arts and Crafts at the Boys & Girls Club
 Soup Kitchen
 Meals on Wheels
 I received a letter from Mangold Hospital in Lockney asking if we would be interested
in helping with their annual holiday health fair. It is on December 6 th from 9:00am2:00pm. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested in helping.
 Willow Bend Elementary School Mentoring Program-Sign-Up Now. They are still in
need of mentors, especially males please sign up if you can.
 POP TART DRIVE: We will co-host with the Mentor Tech’s Medical Cohort Group.
Starts October 21st and runs till November 21st.
 We will educate people about the issue of hunger in Lubbock. We have
shifts outside the union from 12:00-2:00pm for the following days which are
on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you are interested please e-mail
Lonimarie.flores@ttuhsc.edu. Please provide your phone number too.

Professional Developments/Speakers:
 Dr. Kerry Gilbert who is an Assistant Professor and Program director of the PT
program will present to us on Nov. 17th

December 3rd at 7:30pm we will be having a potluck at
Loni’s House. If you are interested please RSVP and let us
know what you plan on bringing. We will also be going an
ornament exchange.
