HEED Fund
Grants Available
Educational Programs and Resources: Grants up to $500 will be awarded to help develop, support,
conduct and evaluate community-based educational programs in Missouri during 2014.
Grant Guidelines
Funds are to be used to provide support for University of Missouri Extension related programs
and/or for educational resources needed to conduct and evaluate programs that focus on leadership
development or current issues facing families.
Educational program/resource funds will be deposited with the appropriate University of Missouri
Extension office or the MAFCE treasurer.
Applications will only be accepted from regional HES specialists, state HES specialists, and current
members of the Missouri Association for Family and Community Education (MAFCE).
Programs/educational experiences should reflect creativity, innovation and meet an important need.
Interdisciplinary, community-based planning committees are required for these Educational
Program support grants.
Information must be typed according to the two-page application form; no more than one extra page
attached, if needed.
Identification of additional funds from other sources is strongly encouraged.
Supervisor/Director or MAFCE county president needs to be knowledgeable and supportive of the
program.
Criteria Used in Judging Proposals
Members of the HEED Fund Advisory Committee will serve as the grant selection committee.
Requests should meet an important educational need that cannot be met in another way. Preference
will be given to new projects. Program evaluation is an essential component of the grant.
Proposals will be evaluated on their overall quality, including how well guidelines are followed.
Evidence of additional funds and/or collaborative efforts will enhance the application.
Supervisor/Director's or MAFCE county president's signature on proposal is required.
Completed proposals must be received by the deadline.
Grant Deadlines/Requirements
