Students checked out a book from the library on Friday . They were so excited. I did stress to pick a “just right book”. This week we are practicing partner reading. We will be reading books about Amber Brown ( a second grader) and discuss character traits and what makes a good friend. HOMEWORK: Read for 20 minutes Monday – Thursday. Record minutes in green folder and return folder on Friday. This weeks focus in writing is thinking of things we love and make a list or draw pictures to give us ideas to spark our writing this year. HOMEWORK Bring a picture of a favorite place, person, or thing. It can be a special memory. That is going to be a starting point for our writing this week. Please bring by Wednesday. This past week we talked about the differences and similarities of toads and frogs in fiction stories We had read the books about Frog and Toad so I includes some real facts about the differences and similarities of real frogs and toad The focus this week in math is place value. Understanding 3 digit number represents amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones. Students will compare 2 and 3 digit numbers and use great than and less than signs.
