Specific Request:
Conduct a delta mechanical/thermal PDR to evaluate technical, cost and schedule impacts of the
thermal changes necessary to meet requirements with margin.
Supporting Rational:
The PDR design did not meet requirements and did not factor in the impacts of moving the
radiators outboard and/or additional heat pipes.
Response:
Agreed. A Delta PDR for the mechanical/thermal subsystem was held in July 2002. As a result
of a successful review, the mechanical/thermal subsystem preliminary design was baselined.
