Creative Corner Poetry Book Requirements
Your poetry book must have a minimum of 13 poems. Each poem needs to include artwork. Add color when
possible. If you hand-write your poetry, it must be on unlined paper and written in ink. The cover of your book
should be decorated. For a poem to be considered for the school’s Anthology, it must be typed and must include a
title, a byline, and artwork. Your poems must have no misspelled words unless they are for effect. Your finished
product should be creative and neat. Tentative due date for your poems and their illustrations to be pasted into your
poetry book:
Required poems:
1 & 2. Two haiku
3 & 4 Cinquain & diamonte (or two cinquain or two diamonte)
5. “Whatif” poem (use aabb rhyming scheme)
6. Sensory poem
7. Extended Metaphor poem
8. What am I? personification riddle poem
9. Six-room poem
Any four of the following poems:
1. Escaping into a Book
2. When I Grow Up
3. ABC poem
4. Concrete (shape poem)
5. If I were in Charge of the World (template available)
6. Limerick
7. Autobiographical (template available)
8. Theme Song of Your Life

Due date for next book log: Wednesday, March 12
