Worksheet for Ph.D. Coursework The minimum requirement for coursework past the core requirements is 9 courses, split into two focus areas that you define in consultation with the Graduate Advisor, the student's Qualifying Procedure Committee, and his/her potential Ph.D. supervisor. Use this worksheet to plan coursework, and to record agreements made with the Graduate Advisor (e.g. about courses transferred from other institutions that could not count toward the MA, but can for the Ph.D.). You may, in some cases, use electives from the MA/core program as part of this count. When you file for Ph.D. Candidacy, submit a completed copy of this form to the Graduate Advisor and GSC Chair; this will make their review of your completed program easier.
