Thank you for taking the time to complete this reference form. The goal is to have you provide information that
will help us determine if the candidate is qualified for this volunteer leadership position. If you have any questions

During the three days of Early Arrival and the week of New Student Orientation, Program Arrival Leaders (PALs)
are expected to:
 Welcome new students and their families traveling from abroad, either at the airport or in person on campus.
 Serve as a peer leader for new international students (broadly defined).
 Assist the ISSS staff with Early Arrival logistics and activities.
 Work with ISSS to plan welcoming events for the new students during their first term at Middlebury.
We seek candidates who will be contributing members on a diverse leadership team, are responsible, know when
to ask questions, have experience interacting well with students, faculty and staff, and are good listeners/mentors.
