Managing as a NEA
with My Crazy Life
How can I be the most effective NEA when
my life Is so crazy, busy, and hectic, but also
very fulfilling, rewarding, and wonderful!
1. Plan a yearly calendar and schedule once a
year. You need a planner!
A. Know when to schedule
B. Have set
places to teach.
1. Delta Sands Apartment Complex: 1st
Thursday of the month at 4:00 pm.
2. Mt. Catherine Manor: 2nd Thursday of
the month at 4:00 pm.
3. Central Utah Mental Health : 1st
Wedneday of the month at 11:00 am.
4. Kanosh Paiute Indian Reservation: 2nd
Tuesday of the month at 4:00 pm.
5. Special Needs Adults: 3rd Wednesday of
the month at 11:00 am.
6. Delta Youth Activity Center: twice a
month at 3:45 pm
7. Delta and Fillmore Food $ense/4-H
Cooking and Nutrition Youth Class: 3rd
Wednesday/2nd Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
C. Our NEA schedules are fexible! Plan your
NEA schedule around your life!
2. Have files with lesson plans prepared.
3. Repeat the lesson topic all month.
4. If you have a down day, or no classes, and
paperwork is caught up, Get Ahead!
5. Keep master copies
of the handouts,
recipes, and
letters to parents.
6. Keep all information about the class on
your roll.
7. If you have time between classes fill out
paperwork.
8. Use efficient, proper, and clean containers
to hold supplies, equipment, and food.
9. Go to bed early the day before you have lots of
classes or don’t schedule until later in the day.
10. Find joy in your job as an NEA!!!!
