FUNDS FROM FEDERAL TAX SOURCES
Chapter 40, Section 4A, of the General Laws states that, “Any governmental unit, hereinafter
defined, may enter into an agreement with one or more other governmental units to perform
jointly or for such other unit or units any service, or activity or undertaking which each
contracting unit is authorized by law to perform. When such agreement involves the
expenditure of funds for educational purposes accepted pursuant to Section 53A of Chapter
44, or the expenditures of funds for establishing supplementary education centers and
innovative educational programs, the agreement and its termination shall be authorized by the
School Committee. The School Committee and administration shall abide by all aspects of
the General Laws, as it pertains to all Federal revenue.”
