philosophers Thales, Anaximander,
and Anaximenes.
 Was drawn away because of his
disgust for tyranny of Polycrates.
Pythagoreanism
 Pythagoras

 It was based on religious, political, and
philosophical beliefs.
 They believed in reincarnation: Pythagoras
thought himself to have been a Trojan warrior
in a past life
